Dixie helps out everyone and is so easy to work with and just goes with the flow and is so pleasant.  She has really been a great asset to our office staff and stepped in to help when needed.  She is always so gracious and catches on very fast and we are lucky to have someone with er talents on our Senior Select Team.  Keep up the good work Dixie!


Senior Select Sponsors Summer Luau at the Frisco Senior Center

Fun was had by all at the Frisco Senior Center’s annual Summer Luau.  100 seniors enjoyed authentic Hawaiian dancers, relay games and food.  Senior Select Home Health co-sponsored the even.t

The 2nd Annual Towne Creek Art Show was a huge success!  The residents have met weekly for over a year to work on their beautiful paintings.  Senior Select was honored to continue to sponsor this event.

Senior Select Donates $5,000 to Meals on Wheels
December 29, 2009
The staff of Senior Select Home Health Services in McKinney, Texas donated one hundred $25 Wal-Mart gift cards this holiday season to the Collin County Meals on Wheels organization for distribution to our senior citizens.  Jill Hickman (owner of senior Select Home Health Services) matched her employees contributiions and presented Julie Smith (Director of Senior Services) of Collin County Meals on Wheels program with $5,000.

Senior Select Partners with McKinney Fire Department to Ring the Bell for the Salvation Army

Senior Select Home Health Services in McKinney, Texas partnered with the McKinney Fire Department to Ring the Bell for the Salvation Army.  This is the second year that Senior Select has paricipated in this event for the Salvation Army during the Holiday Season. Senior Select Home Health Service sponsored the 2nd Annual Ms. Allen senior Pageant on Saturday October 3, 2009.  The event was held at the Allen Senior Center and there were 9 contestants and over 300 in attendance. Senior Select Home Health Sponsors Dance For Seniors

They all had on their boogie shoes for the dance sponsored by Senior Select Home Health! Music provided by Blue Diamond Trio. The next dance is scheduled for December 20th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Admission is free and open to the public and is held at Country Lane Senior Living in McKinney.


Delivering Thanksgiving Boxes to Meals On Wheels Participants

Their hearts and trunks were full as Senior Select Home Health employees delivered Thanksgiving boxes to the homebound Meals On Wheels participants. "It is so rewarding to be able to help our seniors this way," stated Carey Coleman, RN Geriatric Care Manager for Senior Select.

Giving Christmas!

Senior Select Home Health employees had giving on their minds this Holiday Season. The staff generously donated $2,805.00 in Wal-Mart gift cards to Collin County Committee on Aging's Senior Angels progam. In addition, Senior Select Home Health matched the employee's donation for a total donation of $5,610.00 to Meals On Wheels recipients!


Caregiver of the Year 2006

Beth Stapleton of McKinney was named Caregiver of the Year for 2006. She was nominated by several of her friends. The award is part of  the celebration of National Family Caregiver Month (November) and the community's effort to raise awareness and education for family caregivers. Sponsoring this community event was Collin County Committee on Aging, McKinney Senior Recreation Center and Senior Select Home Health.

First Texercise Graduation in Collin County!
November 14, 2006

They made the commitment. They committed to health, wellness and to coming to class for 12 weeks! Texercise graduated its first class in Collin County on Tuesday, November 14th from the First Baptist Church of Allen. Senior Select Home Health sponsored the class.

Senior Select Sponsors National Memory Screening Day
November 14, 2006

Senior Select Home Health partnered with the McKinney Senior Recreation Center and offered free screenings for the Alzheimer's Foundation National Memory Screening Day.  Screenings consisted of a series of questions and tasks that test memory, language skills, thinking ability and other intellectual funtions. These screenings were also offered at Allen Senior Recreation Center.

Senior Select Supports Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk

It was a beautiful morning to walk, raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association! Senior Select along with 300 other North Texans showed their commitment to finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. Over $60,000 was raised at this event. Senior Select was a Bronze level sponsor.

Senior Select Performs Free Gait & Balance Screenings at Health Fair
September 9, 2006

As part of the annual Health & Wellness Health Fair sponsored by McKinney and Frisco Senior Recreation Centers Senior Select performed free gait and balance screenings.  These screenings consisted of testing balance, sensation and gait. In addition, Senior Select offered free cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure screenings. Over 300 local seniors attended the yearly event.

Senior Select Sponsors First Texercise Class in Collin County!

Senior Select Home Health is sponsoring Texercise in Collin County. Texercise is a statewide fitness campaign, developed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services to educate and involve older Texans and their families in physical activity and good nutrition throughout their lifespan. The first class is being held at First Baptist Church in Allen.  Class is facilitated by Senior Select's Carey Coleman, RN.


Senior Selects Takes A Swing For Meals On Wheels

It was a gorgeous day to take a swing for Collin County Committee on Aging (Meals On Wheels)! Senior Select was a sponsor in the Collin County Committee on Aging's First Annual Charity Golf Tournament. All the money raised went to support local Meals On Wheels recipients.

Relaying For Cure
April 21, 2006

Senior Select employees and 2500 other participants raised money and stayed up all night for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. This year's Relay event raised $230,000 to find a cure and to support cancer patient services.

Nutrition Month Winner!
April 3, 2006

March is National Nutrition Month. Senior Select partnered with Collin County Committee on Aging (Meals on Wheels) and the McKinney Senior Recreation Center to offer activities and information on nutrition in the aging population. Activities included classes, presentations, cooking demonstrations, educational materials and a drawing to win numerous prizes.
